Library

The present Ayurveda college library was established in the year 1958 as a central agency for meeting the information requirements of the academic community of the college and for collection, organization and dissemination of information. Library aim is to provide a modern, efficient and welcoming library service for all users of the college and for all others with valid reason to make use of the library and archival collection and facilities. The library is fully automated and is one of the best Ayurvedic medical libraries in the country.

The department has gained advances in various fields of Kaumarabhritya such as management of Developmental disorders, Nutritional Disorders, therapy for post infectious sequel preventive dermatology, and control of recurrent respiratory infections. It has also tremendous experience in execution of modified forms of Panchakarma therapy in children. There is also development in the field of management of childhood injuries and Physiotherapy methods. The department is also promoting traditional child care practices in newborns and infant. The Department has expanded its wing by commencing the Post graduate degree course in the year 2003-04.

To impart adequate knowledge in Rachanasareera as per CCIM syllabus and to develop proper skill so as to mould efficient physician and surgeons to serve society in health and illness.

 

Opening Hours
Library working Hours 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on all week days.
Library transactions 9.30 am to 5.30 pm .Except Monday. In all Mondays library will close transactions at 2.00.pm .The rest of the time used for shelf rectification and cleaning.
Book issue/return 9.30 am to 4.00 pm
Daily issue 9.30 am to 5.00 pm
Internet/Digital library service 9.30 am to 5.00p pm

Reader Services

The library follows an Open access system. The library offers loan service, literature search, reference search, internet browsing and reprographic service.

Membership

Membership of the library is open to regular teachers, students of BAMS, MD, Therapists, Pharmacists and Nursing and non teaching staffs.

The library is a referral centre for researchers, practioners and students from other institutions also. They are treated as non members. Nonmembers can also use the library on all working days between 10.am to 4.pm by getting permission from the librarian/principal. Permission can be refused without stating any specific reasons.

All categories of student's members should submit one passport size photograph along with dully filled application form and collected their barcode number and affix the label in their identity card.

The borrowers should check the fitness of the document getting it issued. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of the person at the circulation counter who will put necessary remarks on the document before issuing. The borrower will be held responsible for any default/damage found at the time of return of the document, if not recorded earlier, and will be liable to pay the penalty as decided by the librarian.
Any document issued, may be recalled by the library before the due date of return without assigning any reason and the borrower has to abide by the decision.
Book will be reissued for not more than two times
In case of manageable damage / mutilation of document, the borrower will be liable to pay the amount assessed by the librarian.
In case of loss of documents/ irreparable damage/mutilation of document, the borrower will be liable to pay the cost of the book plus fine or to replace the latest/same issue of the book as per Government order.

Library Rules

All kinds of personal belongings i.e. bags, purses, wallets, umbrellas, files etc... Except notebook are supposed to be kept in the properly counter at the entrance.
While browsing books, no book should be replaced by the user on the stack themselves. Books once picked out from the stack should be left in the circulation counter if not issued out.
The physical condition of the book should be checked while checking out, mutilation of pages if found is to be brought to the notice of the circulation in charge otherwise the borrower himself / herself shall be responsible for mutilation of the book if detected afterwards.
Underlining, marking, folding of pages, drawings and write comments etc...In the book is strictly prohibited.
The readers shall be keep silence within the library premises.
Library staff will not be responsible for things left in the library hall.
Watching movie or video on laptop, playing game on laptop, sleeping, talking loudly, and eating any items are strictly prohibited.
Books of references, newspapers, illustrated and rare books, multivolume collection, serial publications, thesis, periodicals and cd will not be issued out.
Please keep your mobile in silence/off mode within the library.
Readers are required to handle all library property carefully to avoid damage to it and also not to disturb other readers/users.
Some items in the library cannot be copied because of copyright laws, poor condition, or downer restrictions.
